「國家書店」為行政院研究發展考核委員會委託民間單位統籌營運政府出版品的專案，提供包括實體門市及網路書店購書的機制與服務。97年度經公開評選後正式由秀威資訊科技股份有限公司負責營運。
「國家書店」的經營有以下特色：
「國家書店」是台灣唯一專賣政府出版品的門市。
「國家書店」將提供隨需列印（POD,Print On Demand）的服務，凡機關已經絕版或供書不及的出版品，將透過此一機制供書，以確保政府寶貴的知識資產不至絕版。
「國家書店」也同時設有網路書店，除可提供政府出版品線上查詢、部份內容瀏覽及訂購中華民國政府各級機關政府出版品外，海內外使用者更可以利用此平台所設置的數位版權管理系統（DRM,Digital Contents Management）來瀏覽、租借或購買電子書（e-Books）。
